Mr Lau, now back in control of the Kimberley Hotel via Regent National Enterprises Ltd, succeeds in the final appeal. Regent had terminated, on force majeure grounds, the 2003 sale of the hotel to Goldlion Properties, a subsidiary of Kwong Hing Investment (HK) Ltd, which we believe is controlled by the Fu family which once controlled the Furama Hotel in HK.

Regarding Stephen Lau Hei Wing: "It appeared from his affirmation that he was born in PRC but had lived and worked in the USA and Hong Kong for 23 years. That on 23 July 1999, he was detained by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) to assist investigation and was only released 3½ years later on 30 January 2003"
