In Part 4 of our review of the proposed Listing Rule changes, we look at the proposals on financial reporting, including the long-awaited move to quarterly statements. When directors and controlling shareholders know what is going on daily, why shouldn't all other shareholders be told quarterly? Suggestions from HSBC and others that the market, for its own good, shouldn't be told too much too often, are disingenuous nonsense.
