Showdown at Nority
As we predicted last October, shareholder South China Industries has begun a proxy battle for control of the board of shoe-maker Nority International, where the existing directors had attempted to grant themselves a bumper round of options without South China's approval. The showdown is set for tomorrow at a shareholders' meeting. (10-Jan-2000)

All is not well in the Nority boardroom. Following our last article, it emerged that 39.9% shareholder South China had not been told about the directors new share options and were not exactly happy. Now the options are scrapped and they are seeking to have new directors appointed to the board. Are we about to see a proxy battle? (28-Oct-1999)

Investors should keep an eye on listed footwear maker Nority International Group, where the directors have just blown their share option scheme, granting themselves options to subscribe for 10% of the company ahead of a doubling of the share price. The Chairman has also increased his holding in August by 5% of the company. (10-Oct-1999)
